Neon
“Painful, dark and true, lit up with intense poetic fire and yet curiously practical - a wonderful collection for these times and forever”.
Emma Thompson
"Bethany Rose’s poetry will electrify your mind and kiss your soul."
Dolly Alderton - Sunday Times
NEON softly lights the shadowy path of LGBT issues, mental health, school, grief and longing. Delve into a mind of swimming pools and hospitals, planets and supernovas, classrooms and therapy offices, playgrounds and the sky – all bound together in tight poetry spliced with light. This collection is dedicated to anyone who is looking for a way to come back home to themselves.
Bethany Rose’s poem ‘Pink’ aired on BBC3 last year and received over five million views, and her commission ‘Lightbulb’ for BBC1 had one million. Beth is an LGBT spoken word poet and illustrator who writes about everything from sexuality to mental health, through to longing and light. Beth has had sell out performances across the world, with shows at The Poetry Cafe in Covent Garden, the Phoenix Club in the West-End, Le Chat Noir in Paris, and many more. Beth has done commissions for ITV, Amnesty International, The Courtauld Institute of Art and TEDX. Beth was also chosen to be one of Nationwide’s ‘Voice of the People’, with her poem being aired on prime-time television for ITV.
